Futerro will attend the Renewable Material Conference 2023. A wide range of concepts and technologies used to be addressed at this conference: circularity, renewable refineries, chemical recycling, and new process technologies.
This year’s event presents all the different solutions to make materials with
out using fossil fuels but using bio-based, CO2-based, and recycled which are better for the environment.
Our expert Geoffroy Delvinquier will discuss “PLA and Chemical Recycling” and how PLA can be recycled using our patented recycling technology: LOOPLA®, a natural and easy way to protect our planet.
The LOOPLA® recycling technology is based on solvolysis and depolymerization principles and involves breaking down the polymer chain into its monomer units using heat, pressure, and natural solvents/alcohols. This process can restore the original quality of PLA and remove any impurities or additives to reach at least 90% recovery of the original material. In other words, the chemically recycled PLA obtained with LOOPLA® has exactly the same properties as the virgin one derived from biofeedstocks, enabling it to be reproduced directly in particularly demanding applications such as food packaging.
Recycling PLA enables a complete circular flow and contributes to a more sustainable planet.
